5/8 – Payton’s Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

Warm and dry conditions will continue to be the rule for the rest of the week. No major changes in the forecast this morning. High pressure should keep convection at bay this week and we continue to carry little to no pops for the entire week. The main story will be the warm temperatures that will reach into the upper 80s and lower 90s. This week will be the warmest week of the year so far. Enjoy the warm and dry weather this week.

Guidance still tries to point at some chance of afternoon showers going into the weekend as the high pressure weakens some. Will carry slight chance pops in the afternoon over the weekend. Guidance has changed slightly in the long range…with these particular runs of the models suggest that we will not get a major rain chance for several more days. This differs from previous guidance that had our next chance of rain early next week. Right now have not made major changes in the forecast based on one run. Will continue to indicate a chance of rain early next week, but if this trend continues the forecast could go dry for early next week. This will be something to watch over the next few days.
