5/17 – Payton’s Friday Afternoon Forecast
Warming up quickly this afternoon and the sea breeze will kick in shortly. The coast will be sunny and humid while north of I-10 will see some clouds and the low low chance of an isolated downpour, but overall not expecting much rain today. Tonight will be mild with a few clouds. Saturday will be warm, humid with a mix of sun and clouds. Rain chances will increase slightly, but still not expecting much rain Saturday. Sunday is a different story. Rain chances look more likely during the afternoon as a decaying line of t-storms move in our direction. There is a very low chance of a few strong t-storms, but the threat for severe weather is rather low. Going into next week we dry out, upper level riding buildings in and we heat up. Model guidance does show some areas reaching the lower 90s next. Something to look forward to if you love the heat!
