The rain, fog, and cloudy skies have finally moved on the sun has returned to South Mississippi! This afternoon was noticeably cooler and drier, a trend that will continue into the weekend. Saturday will be a nearly perfect South Mississippi afternoon. Expect absolutely clear skies, mild temperatures in the low 60s, and low humidity. Sunday is looking just as sunny, but we will see “return flow” setting up and the southerly winds will begin to raise both the temperature and humidity.
Still, mostly sunny skies will be in place as we begin the workweek, but a front will move in by Tuesday.
This front won’t be very robust, so we’ll see only a slight chance of rain and minor increase in cloud cover. Also by that time our temperatures will have climbed into the upper 60s and lower 70s, but the front will be just strong enough to clear the skies and lower temperatures about 10 degrees. It won’t be until a week from today I expect a noticeable increase in cloud cover or rain chances, and even those aren’t very high.
