USM student from Ocean Springs awarded Barry Goldwater Scholarship
A Southern Miss student from Ocean Springs has just received one of the country’s top STEM honors for college students.
Ashe Davis is a junior in the School of Polymer Science and is the 30th USM student to earn the Barry Goldwater Scholarship.
She was selected from approximately 5,000 applicants nationwide after a long process that requires support from university faculty.
The Goldwater Scholarship is awarded to college sophomores and juniors who show exceptional promise as future researchers.
