11 indicted in Medicaid fraud roundup in Mississippi

Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch says 11 people have been indicted in a Medicaid fraud investigation involving more than $12.3 million in alleged fraud.

The indictments are part of a nationwide U.S. Department of Justice healthcare fraud crackdown that charged 455 defendants across 45 states and territories.

Among those charged are 51-year-old Christopher Moore of Gulfport and 34-year-old Taylor Rushing of Gautier.

These 11 Mississippi defendants are accused of fraudulent billing, wire fraud, and falsifying documents to obtain government money.

If you suspect Medicaid fraud in Mississippi, you can report it to the Mississippi Attorney General’s Medicaid fraud control unit, which investigates complaints involving waste, fraud, and abuse of the Medicaid program.
