11/13 – Jeff Vorick’s “Rain Moves Back In” Monday Morning Forecast

After a relatively dry weekend, rain from a new area of low pressure located off of the Texas coast will move in. By the middle of the day, light steady rainfall will fill in our area. Coverage of rainfall will continue to increase this afternoon into the evening. Expect a generally gloomy and dreary 24 or so hours from this evening through at least Tuesday evening.

Winds will also begin to pick up by this afternoon and stay elevated through midweek. This area of low pressure will influence our weather with a generally unsettled regime through Wednesday before it finally pulls away for the second half of the week. Rainfall totals could top 2-4 inches across the area with locally heavier amounts.

Due to elevated winds, a Coastal Flood Warning will go into effect for Coastal Harrison and Hancock County. It goes into effect tonight and carries through Thursday morning for the potential of 1 to 3 feet of water above normally dry ground. Typical low-lying spots could have issues. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect on the water until at least Wednesday morning.
