10/13 – Rob’s “Friday The 13th” Weekend Forecast
Low dew points are moving southward this morning and should mix into the area before daylight. The only places that may continue to have muggy conditions are those adjacent to water. The cold front which moved through is still to the E/SE of the area will begin its trek northward late today as an open tropical wave moves into the gulf from the Florida Straits. The deeper moisture and muggy conditions will slowly make their way back over the area through Saturday. Today will bring plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures…but tolerable with drier air moving into the area. Humidity will return tomorrow as a tropical wave moves across the central Gulf of Mexico.
The next cold front will make its way into the area by Sunday evening. A line of showers/t-storms along this front will begin to decay as the front approaches the area and should be all but alleviated as it moves through. The forecast next week is really dependent on another tropical wave moving across the GOM…if this happens, the forecast will change dramatically. If this doesn’t come to fruition, the cold front moving through the area will bring clearing skies and a nice cool down as very cold air will make its way into the region.
