10/3 – Rob’s “Continued HOT” Friday-Eve Morning Forecast
The hot and dry pattern with near record high temperatures is expected to continue through the workweek. A weakness developing along the southern flank of the mid-level high will also allow some modest increase in Gulf moisture moving north to northwest over the forecast area. This is likely to bring some spotty showers to south Mississippi.
Ample sunshine still be in place to allow the high temperatures to reach the mid-90s inland from the immediate coast.
The long awaited, first strong fall cold front is expected to surge southeast into the central Gulf coast region on Monday and offshore by Monday night/early Tuesday morning. The opportunity for rain will continue ahead of frontal passage on Monday before drier and quite a bit cooler air moves into the region Monday night into Tuesday. This is likely to bring down the high temperatures closer to the seasonal averages in the lower 80s Tuesday and Wednesday with lows falling into the upper 50s and 60s Monday night and Tuesday.
