Hurricane Michael continues to make history and show signs of strengthening as it approaches the Panama City, FL area. Now just shy of Category 5 the winds are up to 150 mph. This will likely be a catastrophic event for the Florida Panhandle. For South Mississippi we’ll be on the west side, which will be considerably drier and calmer. We’ll have the chance to see a few tropical downpours and gusty winds, but the tropical storm force winds will stay just off to our east. A small craft advisory for the sound and open waters. A cold front will start to move into the area tonight, and it will bring fall weather for the remainder of the week into the weekend. Moisture will return Sunday ahead of another cold front, which will increase rain chances slightly Sunday into Monday.
