07/17 Ryan’s “Stormy” Tuesday Evening Forecast

After another stormy day I wish I could say it was over, but we’re in for a few more before the weekend. Upwards of 5″ of rain fell in parts of the central Gulf Coast again today, leading to more localized flooding and even a partially collapsed ceiling at the South MS Humane Society building.

The atmospheric conditions leading to these rainy days isn’t changing any time soon, so expect similar days until after Thursday.

By then drier air will have made it’s way to South Mississippi and the sky will open up, letting the sunlight pour in. This will significantly increase temperatures through the weekend though. Air temperatures will climb into the mid 90s, which means a heat index in the 105-110 degree range is likely. These conditions are dangerous with long-term exposure, so if you’re going out to enjoy them remember to take care of yourself!
