07/04 Ryan’s “July 4th” Thursday Forecast

The Fourth of July is finally here and the weather did not disappoint! It was sunny and beautiful this afternoon and we didn’t see any rain, but it keeps getting hotter. Heat indices today were as high as 112 in South MS and unfortunately the temperature is only going up.

Tonight will cool a bit though, into the upper 70s with nearly perfect “firework viewing” conditions and clear skies.

The nights may be cooler, but it isn’t by much. The air temperature will climb at least 2 degrees as we head into the weekend, so the heat index could be as much as 5 degrees higher than today! These conditions led to a Heat Advisory today for George County and it’s likely they’ll spread across South MS in the days ahead.
