07/01 Ryan’s “Hot & Humid” Wednesday Morning Forecast

While not quite as hot as yesterday, we're still in for another dangerously hot one as we kick off July.

Yesterday was near Heat Warning conditions and while it will technically “cool” a bit today, another dangerously hot one is on the way. Heat Advisories are in place for all South Mississippi counties once again this morning, meaning the heat index will linger near 105° for a few hours this afternoon. Couple that with today’s UV Index in the “very high” range around 10, and we once again ask you to practice heat safety if you’re outside for any amount of time today. That means stay hydrated, seek shade as much as possible, stay inside as much as possible, and wear light, loose-fitting clothing along with sunscreen. That way you can enjoy South MS’s great outdoors without too much danger, especially since that heat isn’t going anywhere.

For today, expect a high near 92° with light southerly winds and high humidity, making it feel like 104-108° across the area. We’ll see at least a few afternoon/evening showers and thunderstorms once again today, with a very low chance of an overachieving thunderstorm producing severe weather.
