06/01 Ryan’s “Excessive Heat” Friday Night Forecast

Tropical season may have started today but the real issue this week will be the excessive heat.

TEMPERATURES WILL RISE INTO THE MID 90S BY SUNDAY, WHICH WHEN COUPLED WITH OUR HUMIDITY WILL PRODUCE HEAT INDICES IN THE 105-110 DEGREE RANGE.

Prolonged, and in some cases short-term exposure to these types of conditions can lead to a wide range of heat-related illnesses, so take steps to protect yourself. A few examples are staying hydrated, wearing light, loose fitting clothing, and wearing hats with a wide brim.

OTHER THAN THE HEAT, IT WILL BE A BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND TO SPEND OUTDOORS IN SOUTH MISSISSIPPI.

Expect plenty of sun with a few puffy white clouds, and very few showers due to the upper level ridging and dry air. There is a front moving in though. A weak cold front associated with an occluded low will be moving in throughout the day on Sunday, bringing a few showers and some slightly cooler and drier air to start of next week.
