05/08 Ryan’s “Calm” Monday Night Forecast

High pressure has moved in and settled nearly directly over the Gulf Coast, which will calm conditions to South MS at night, and light winds during the day. These calm conditions will pair nicely with our pleasantly sunny and warm days, but moisture will continue to build until the end of the week when a cold front will move through.

Right now, this approaching system is right on the “edge” of being a potential severe storm. Some severe parameters are trending towards possible severe weather, while others (like the tilt of the trough) are trending towards a less organized system. The next two days will be very important in terms of determining what sort of conditions we’ll see. We’ll continue monitoring the situation and update as necessary.

After the system moves through, I’m not expecting much cooling, but the skies will clear and the sun will return for a beautiful Mother’s Day weekend!
