02/09 Ryan’s “Cloudy and Humid” Friday Night Forecast

Yesterday was clear and sunny but today is cloudy and humid, and unfortunately those latter conditions aren’t in a hurry to leave. We’ve seen very little actual rain up to this point in the day, but showers are expected to begin this evening and increase through the night. By tomorrow afternoon, the showers will become more heavy and thunderstorms will begin moving in from the North as a front pushes in from the plains. As of this post we’ve been upgraded to a “marginal” threat for severe weather, but it still seems our biggest worries will be localized flooding due to the 1-3″ inches of rain we’re expecting from Saturday afternoon all the way into Monday. We’ll start seeing rain chances dripping below significant levels by Mardi Gras, and everything seems to be clearing up for a slightly cooler and sunny weekend!
