Ryan’s “Flood Watch” Friday

The Flood Watch may have expired but the Flash Flood watch has been extended through Sunday morning. Several inches of rain has already saturated our ground, and continued showers and t-storms will likely cause a few more headaches before it’s all said and done. Today’s showers were on the lighter side, with pockets of heavier rain and thunderstorms. I expect about the same tomorrow, with 50% shower coverage and an afternoon low near 85. The rain will continue into Sunday, but does look like it will begin dissipating by around Tuesday. At that point, the Low pressure center will have merged with an approaching cold front and begun to break down while stuck in between two High pressure systems. Ultimately we can expect at least 2 to 4 more inches of rain through the weekend meaning flooding will certainly be an issue through Sunday. By the middle of next week I expect us to begin returning to the regular summer pattern, with hot and humid days followed by afternoon showers.
