Mississippi Power Rates Hike

Mississippi Power announced today that rates could increase to help pay for the Kemper Power Plant.
Mississippi Power filed proposals with the Mississippi Public Service Commission to recover costs for the Kemper County Energy facility. The company’s preferred plan would keep costs lower than other options offered. This plan would keep rates at current levels until the plant was finished.
Mississippi Power based these plans on the Mississippi Supreme Court’s decision that they must refund money collected from customers over the past two years.
