Arrest made in communication wire theft in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is sharing an arrest made early Wednesday morning.

Employees with AT&T reported the theft of communication wire on Highway 613 in the Hurley community.

When deputies responded, they found a suspicious vehicle belonging to Mark Jowers Jr. of Alabama, that vehicle leaving the scene.

Deputies stopped the car and found items implicating Jowers in the crime.

A search warrant was issued at his home in Lucedale and the missing communication wire was found.

This case remains under investigation and additional charges or arrests may be announced.
