Manhunt for Gulfport fugitive ends
An apartment complex on lock down overnight in Texas as Texas law enforcement worked to close in on Gulfport fugitive Roderick Bowers around midnight.
This was the scene at a Montgomery County, Texas apartment complex as officials teamed up to try and capture the 52-year-old fugitive wanted on charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated domestic violence, and homicide in Gulfport, Mississippi.
After several failed attempts by law enforcement to contact the person who lives in the apartment, three shots rang out from inside the apartment.
After a brief standoff, a remote robot with a camera was used to enter the apartment, discovering two dead bodies inside.
At this time, one of the deceased has been presumptively identified as Gulfport fugitive Roderick Bowers.
The identity of the other person found dead has not yet been released, but authorities have confirmed it is the 52-year-old white male resident who lived at the apartment.
You may remember as we first reported back on November 10th, police were looking for Bowers in connection with a fatal shooting on 47th Avenue early that Sunday morning and a kidnapping that took place back on November 6th.
Police believe both crimes are related.
