HII successfully completes Builder’s Trials on Harrisburg (LPD 30)

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WXXV)- Ingalls Shipbuilding completed a successful Builder’s Sea Trial on Saturday for the Harrisburg.

The Harrisburg is the first flight two ship in the San Antonio class.

During those sea trials, Ingalls conducted a full suite of tests to verify the ship’s propulsion, steering, control systems, communications, mission systems, and combat systems.

The Harrisburg returned to the shipyard with major test objectives met, preparing for future acceptance trials and delivery to the United States Navy.

That delivery is expected later this year.
