Gulfport linebacker headlines 2018 National Signing Day

Every year, the first Wednesday in February marks the beginning of the high school football signing period. This morning, Gulfport was the first local school to hold its National Signing Day ceremony.
Overall, the Admirals had five players sign national letters of intent, headlined by Karlos Dillard. The senior linebacker put pen to paper with Air Force which makes him the third player from the Gulf Coast to sign with the Falcons in the last two years.
Dillard says he never saw himself as a military man until recently. “Yes, I actually do feel like a military man now. I never really thought that I would go here, but thank God for giving me the opportunity to be able to go here and be able to provide for my family one day. It felt like I finally made it to where I wanted to be in life. Even though I’m not done yet, I feel like I’m getting real close. Being able to sign on this day and finally getting to my goals is a real accomplishment.”
Upon his arrival in Colorado Springs, Dillard will be linked up with former St. Martin quarterback Wayne Overman III and former St. Stanislaus wide receiver Corbin Blanchard.
Jeremiah Braziel is heading to East Mississippi Community College. Brandon Keys will be at Bethany College. Ginarious Johnson is going to PRCC and the powerlifter Jaquan Foster will be going to Midland University.
