Long Beach teacher selected for national literary scholarship

LONG BEACH, Miss. (WXXV)- One Long Beach Middle School teacher is being honored with a national literary scholarship.

Kaitlin Cassity is one of 17 educators nationwide to receive a scholarship to attend the 44th annual Key West Literary Seminar.

Cassity applied last summer. The scholarship recognizes teachers and librarians who make a meaningful impact on readers in their schools and communities.

This year’s seminar will focus on poetry, bringing celebrated poets, translators, and other voices for four days of discussion and exploration.
