Former JC Shelter Dog to Become Therapy Dog for Military Veteran with P.T.S.D.

Friends of the Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets (F.J.C.A.S.P.) would like to introduce Laila Jean, a one year old Pit/Hound mix with an uplifting story of a “broken” dog whose transformation through physical and emotional healing will now allow her to help a military veteran through the Hounds Helping Heroes program in Connecticut.

Atheletes Sought for Area III Special Olympics

Athletes should begin training now to prepare for a fun-filled day of games and activities during the annual Area III Special Olympics Track and Field Competitions scheduled for March 21st, 2015 at N.A.S.A. Stennis Space Center.

Tommy Robertson Indicted on Five Counts of Embezzlement

State Auditor, Stacey Pickering, and Jackson County District Attorney, Tony Lawrence, announced Monday that former State Senator Tommy Robertson has been indicted on five counts of embezzlement, which are alleged to have occurred in April of 2013.
