Beau Rivage Resort and Casino donates to local nonprofit organizations

Beau Rivage employees go above and beyond to give back to the community and support local charities.

News 25’s Jazell Ladner has more on how much of an impact was made because of their generosity.

Make-A-Wish Foundation is one of the ten nonprofit agencies that received a grant fund from Beau Rivage Resort and Casino MGM’s grant program during the casino’s fall employee festival.

Agencies receiving the grants focus on homelessness, health and wellness, education, and food security.

Make-A-Wish Board Member Paul Arguelles was surprised and thrilled to see a $15,000 check that he said will be used to grant wishes in the six South Mississippi counties. “There are children who are suffering with life threatening illnesses and they need some joy. We need to add a little joy in their lives and without this donation, we wouldn’t be able to do that.”

Beau Rivage has given over $89,000 to local charities all thanks to their very own employees. Beau Rivage Communication Partner Elizabeth Naff said, “MGM’s Resort Foundation is strictly based off employee donations and on-property is what we call a social impact and sustainability group where we plan events all year long to help raise funds that can go towards our foundation in which can grant local nonprofit’s funds.”

As a way to show appreciation to the casino employees, the festival included food, music, and fun activities that include a raffle, cake walk, pie smashing, and a pumpkin decorating contest. “We’re not only an employee here. We’re a family. The more appreciation events we do and the more community driven events we do, it just highlights the family driven or orientation that the Beau is known for.”
