7/16 – Payton’s Monday Afternoon Forecast

It was dry start to Monday, but as daytime heating has continued, showers and thunderstorms are beginning to popup. Everyone has a chance to see rain this afternoon, and these popup thunderstorms will produce heavy rainfall, and a lof of lightning. Going into the evening rain chances will still be around, but will decrease slightly. This trend continues Tuesday into Wednesday with a little more activity expected. Going into the end of the week and into the weekend, rain chances will go down as an upper level ridge builds in from the West. As the ridge builds in the temperatures will climb into the mid 90s. Heat index values could approach 110 degrees this weekend.

TROPICS: No tropical development is expected over the next five days.
