5/28 – Payton’s Monday Evening Forecast
The far outer bands of precipitation currently occurring over the
area should begin to dissipate during the evening hours as daytime
heating wanes. An increase in subsidence throughout the
atmospheric column, a decrease in cloud development, and a
resultant decrease in convection is expected to occur this evening
and overnight as the tropical system continues to push north into
Alabama and Georgia over most of the area.
Tomorrow will see that convective band continue to push north,
and scattered showers and thunderstorms could affect portions of
the area, but the heaviest rain will remain off to the north and east.
Wednesday should see the band of increased moisture along the coast as southerly flow returns, but expect the typical afternoon showers and thunderstorms. The heaviest rain will continue to fall off to the north and east.
