03/01 Ryan’s “Ash Wednesday” Night Forecast
Ash Wednesday ended up being a bit quieter than expected, especially with our “marginal” threat of severe weather. We did see some heavy showers move through the area late in the evening, but the front has already pushed through and skies will gradually clear through the overnight hours. Tomorrow afternoon will see an a nearly 15 degree drop from today’s high of 80, maxing out near 66 on the waterfront and slightly warmer inland. The real star of the end of week forecast are the considerably “drier” conditions, clear skies, and sunshine we’ll see well into the weekend. Late Saturday and early Sunday will begin to see changes in this regard as “return flow” sets up and southerly winds bring in warm/moist air off the Gulf. This will bring cloudy, warm, and humid conditions to the Gulf Coast for Sunday-Tuesday, but things begin to cool and clear again in the middle of the week.
