03/02 Ryan’s “Fantastic” Friday Night Forecast
Today’s fantastic weather is a product of yesterday’s cold front, and it’s going to remain in place through the weekend with very little change. The front’s strongest cooling effects didn’t push as far South as expected, so temperatures ended up being about 5 degrees warmer than I forecast yesterday. Slight continued cooling will continue for at least one more day, and it remains to be seen whether we’ll actually fall into the upper 60s, but for now I have gone with 69 for my high on Sunday afternoon though it’s likely just more wishful thinking. I won’t need that wishful thinking for long though. Our next cold front will move into South MS Monday night, and finish pushing through Tuesday afternoon. This front will bring another round of showers and the potential for a thunderstorm or two, but the real star of that show will be the much cooler air. Afternoon highs will fall into the low-to-mid 60s by the middle of next week, with air just as clear and dry as this weekend’s will be. Might need to break out that sweater again too, because we’ll see at least 4 nights in the 40s this week.
