Winter weather preparedness
As the extreme weather conditions set in throughout the southeast it is important to know how to stay prepared when you are outside.
Although it isn’t recommended to be outside in these cold temperatures, often times children want to play in the snow, if we get any, and their parents must go to work.
Harrison County EMA Director Rupert Lacy tells News 25 the most important things to keep warm. “People need to protect their skin, their head, their face, their ears, their extremities of their toes, but as we go out tonight or in the morning is that you’ll need to be wrapped up into layers so once you get indoors or into a climate controlled area you can take off those layers.”
Lacy also reminds residents to watch out for freezing pipes and keep your pets indoors.
