Ocean Springs defeats Pascagoula 22-12
The Ocean Springs Greyhounds held a 13-0 lead when the Panthers began to find their rhythm in the second quarter.
With about eight minutes remaining in the half, Pascagoula quarterback Jason Glaude handed the ball to senior running back Sean Norvell. The Greyhound defense initially surrounded Norvell for a big stop, but the senior wasn’t going down easily.
Norvell powered his way through the Ocean Springs defense, carrying multiple defenders with him as he pushed into the red zone and picked up a crucial first down.
Pascagoula finished the drive with a quarterback keeper, as Glaude powered his way into the end zone to put the Panthers on the board.
The Panthers remained down 13-6 after Ocean Springs blocked the extra point.
Then, lightning forced both teams to leave the field and head to the locker rooms, bringing the action to a halt. The teams eventually returned to the field, and the game remained a thriller late in the night.
Ocean Springs defeated Pascagoula with a final score of 22-12. The Greyhounds will now host Picayune while Pascagoula hosts D’Iberville.
