7/31 – Payton’s Monday Afternoon Forecast

TROPICAL STORM EMILY HAS FORMED IN THE NE’Tern Gulf of Mexico…

After a BEAUTIFUL day yesterday to close-out the weekend, the DRIER AIR MASS will continue to affect the region through Tuesday. High pressure to our NE will slowly retreat to the NE, which will allow the front to the south to move back north as a stationary boundary. This will elevate rain potential Wednesday through the weekend with as much as 3-5″ of rainfall accumulation.

Tropical Storm Emily will slowly move across central Florida and off the east coast over the Gulf stream by Tuesday afternoon. It is not a threat to South Mississippi.
