10/16 Ryan’s “Windy & Cool” Wednesday Morning Forecast
High pressure is filling in behind Monday's front, bringing windy and cool-to-chilly weather to South Mississippi for the next few days.
Things had already begun to cool off yesterday thanks to Monday evening’s cold front, but stronger high pressure moving in overnight is responsible for today’s windy weather. This cool, dry airmass has many of our morning lows over ten degrees cooler than yesterday’s, falling into the low 50s on the waterfront with a few upper 40s further inland. This afternoon won’t warm much despite nothing but sun in the sky, with a nice windy high of 70 expected in the Gulfport area…nearly 10 degrees below average for this time of year! Things cool down even further overnight as lows fall further into the mid 40s along the coast, and while the windy conditions begin to back of, we may see some of our first lows in the 30s nearby. Thankfully it starts warming from there, slowly taking us back to where we should be by the weekend/end of the week.
Tropics remain on the quiet side with only a couple of areas of interest, which both seem to be trending down in terms of development.
