A Biloxi man who appealed his 2022 conviction on two counts of child exploitation has been denied his appeal.

Stanley Follett, 48, was charged in 2019 with two counts of child exploitation, accused of possessing child pornography on his laptop and in a Google account.

Follett was arrested following an investigation that stemmed from a cybertip generated through Google, alerting the Cyber Crime Division of the state Attorney General’s Office that an account could possibly have child pornography stored there. After an investigation by that agency, Follett was arrested.

He pleaded not guilty and was convicted in a 2022 trial, sentenced to 40 years with 10 suspended. He appealed the court’s decision, citing lack of overwhelming weight of evidence.

The Mississippi Court of Appeals affirmed the lower court decision.
