8/10 – Jeff’s “Extremely Hot Conditions Continue” Thursday Night Forecast

It will remain hot and humid overnight as southerly winds continue. The warm nights and long duration of this heat wave can and do account for heat stress. Be sure to take necessary care and precautions with how hot it is. Temperatures will soar tomorrow morning and heat alerts will be necessary.

An Excessive Heat Warning will be in effect from 11 AM until 7 PM for Pearl River, Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson County. George and Stone County are under a Heat Advisory from 10 AM until 7 PM. It will feel like over 110 degrees during the heat of the day for much of you.

As far as rain chances go, it will be slim pickings for the next few days. A thunderstorm complex could clip the area tomorrow afternoon but rain chances are not high. Saturday too will be dominated by sunshine and heat, with only slim rain chances.

The heat will remain a factor well into the extended but some appreciable rain chances return for Sunday and beyond. However, nothing is signaling drought busting rainfall as now the majority of our area is in drought condition. The tropics remain very quiet with more Saharan dust expected to squelch activity.
