08/31 Ryan’s “Few Heavy Showers” Monday Morning Forecast

Expect a bit more rain than yesterday with a few heavy showers mixed in.

Yesterday saw a little rainfall, but was largely dry, with tropical moisture bringing some potentially heavy showers later on. So far this morning it’s just been light upper level cloud cover and sunshine, though lower level, wetter cloud cover is starting to develop. Our typical daytime heating pattern will lead to at least a few showers later on, with the proximity of what could be Edouard later on pushing a bit more our way. That’s likely to lead to at least a few heavy showers or thunderstorms, bringing our flash flooding risk to level 1 of 4. Not everyone will see rain at this level, but the coastal areas have the highest chance. Otherwise, things will dry out by the end of the afternoon and for tomorrow, but another couple of wetter days lie ahead.

For today, expect a near-normal high near 89 degrees with light southeasterly winds. Rain chances remain at 40%, but decrease quickly later in the afternoon and for Tuesday before increasing again.
