8/3 – Jeff Vorick’s “Hot” Thursday Evening Forecast
A Heat Advisory is in effect until 7 PM. The hot and humid pattern will continue into the first portion of the weekend. Overnight, it will be warm and humid with clearing skies. Winds will remain light out of the southwest. Temperatures will soar yet again tomorrow.
Friday from 11 AM until 7 PM, an Excessive Heat Warning will be in effect for our area. Heat indices could top 110 degrees for much of the afternoon. Skies will turn partly cloudy and there will be thunderstorm chances. Daily thunderstorms plus some energy in the atmosphere will provide for a 40% chance of afternoon/evening activity.
Things begin to turn unsettled by this weekend and into the new week. Rain chances will be elevated Saturday particularly in the afternoon. Some thunderstorms could bring a strong wind gust or two but the main concerns are frequent lightning and very heavy rain. Next week has the potential for a severe thunderstorm setup but there is still plenty of time to watch.
