8/3 – Jeff’s “Hot Turning Unsettled” Thursday Night Forecast
The humidity will remain in place overnight. Temperatures will not drop off too much more even under clear skies. Expect a very hot start tomorrow and the heat wave to continue. The heat combined with the humidity has our area under an Excessive Heat Warning from 11 AM until 7 PM. There will be a 40% chance of thunderstorms for Friday afternoon and evening.
Saturday will bring the opportunity for more thunderstorm chances. Thunderstorm activity will bring frequent lightning and very heavy rain. The heat will linger into the early portions of the weekend but a more unsettled pattern will arrive. Thunderstorm chances will stick around into next week. There will be some potential for severe weather next week but there is plenty of time to watch the pattern evolve. The tropics remain quiet but our attention will need to turn towards the deep tropical Atlantic Ocean for disturbances coming off of Africa.
