4/7 – Jeff Vorick’s “Scattered Thunderstorms” Friday Evening Forecast

A wetter outlook is here for the next 24 hours. Showers and thunderstorms are possible this evening, then more rain will move in overnight. 80-90% coverage of showers and thunderstorms can be expected from the pre-dawn hours Saturday through early afternoon.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until tomorrow morning for Pearl River and Hancock County due to the potential for efficient rainfall. Shower and thunderstorm coverage will diminish during the second half of the day leading to drier times for the remainder of the weekend.

The front and associated energy will linger in the Gulf for several days. Some breaks in the clouds are on the table Monday. Looking towards the middle to end of next week, an area of low pressure will cut off from the jet stream flow and will lend itself to gloomy times for our area.
