9/28 – Brittany’s “Breezy” Wednesday Evening Forecast
Today has been another early fall like day with lows in the 50s and highs in the 80s with dry conditions expected. We still have some minor impacts due to Hurricane Ian to our east. First off, due to a strong pressure gradient between the ridging to our west and Ian to our relatively near east has gusty winds from 15 to 25 mph, especially in areas closer to the coast. Looking at current observations, some areas have gusted up to 35 mph already (although want to note that those are areas very close to bodies of water so there is less friction there). A wind advisory has been issued through this evening because of this. Another concern for today and possibly tomorrow is fire weather danger. The same strong north to northeasterly winds is bringing in a lot of dry air. Min RH could reach into the 25 to 30 percent range along with the stronger winds. In coordination with state fire weather officials, red flag warning has been issued for today, and close monitoring will be needed for tomorrow`s potential fire danger as well. Please avoid planned burns and follow any burn bans directed by your local fire officials.
Outside of these two concerns, the weather will generally be pretty benign with fall like temperatures and dry conditions. There will be a slight warming trend as the week passes through but other than that, enjoy the nicer weather.
