9/6 – Rob’s Wednesday “Midday News” Forecast

ALL EYES CONTINUE TO FOCUS ON MAJOR HURRICANE IRMA…

A cold front has pushed to the south of the area as mostly cloudy skies continue. Cooler/drier air mass will move in and dominate the region into the weekend. Breezy conditions behind the front this afternoon will ease by Thursday and Friday. But depending on the future track of Irma, a squeeze play could occur between the high to its west and itself. This would cause winds to rise toward 10-15 mph over land areas and possibly to 20 or 25 kt over waters mainly east of the river by the weekend. This is not alarming but it does show how extensive Irma`s environment is. Irma will also help in keeping a northerly flow through the area as well.

A trough of low-pressure will drop short once again Saturday…effectively send another shot of dry air and subsequent reinforcing cold front through the area over the weekend into Monday.
