9/1 – Rob Knight’s “September Preview” Friday Forecast

The remnants of Harvey are moving through middle Tennessee west of Nashville this morning, with a rain-free start along the Gulf coast. Harvey will slowly depart to the northeast over the next few days, dragging a weak cold front into the area Saturday night through Labor Day. This will bring isolated showers/t-storms Sunday and Monday, but those should be few and far between, with most of the area remaining dry. Temperature guidance would indicate temperatures over the next several days should remain in the upper 80s to around 90.

Models have really backed off on any significant development of surface low pressure over the Bay of Campeche early next week. Instead, the moisture pool will filter into the region as another cold front will move into the area Tue/Wed…with a drier and COOLER air mass moving in late in the week through the weekend.
