9/9 – Rob Knight’s “Cold Frontal Passage” Thursday Morning Forecast
[videoembed][/videoembed]We will focus more on the less humid flow as a cold front slowly moves to the SE. This will at the very least be noticeable by most as the relatively dry air will make things feel a bit more comfortable. The comfortable conditions will continue through Saturday before the return flow slowly begins to work its way back into the area.
After a brief taste of autumn with sunny and dry conditions…the moisture will rapidly return as deep moisture moves in along with a tropical disturbance moving north out of the southwest gulf on Sunday. High pressure will move off to the east of the area Sunday night and Monday with very deep moisture returning from the gulf by Monday. Showers and thunderstorms will become widespread on Monday especially in the southern half of the forecast area. Tuesday appears to be the most active with deep moisture continuing to rotate on the left side of the Bermuda high pressure that parks off the southeast USA coast. The threat for heavy rainfall will increase Monday and could be an issue especially along coastal Mississippi.
