9/8 – Payton’s Sunday Night Forecast and Tropical Update
FORECAST: The unseasonably hot weather will continue to start the workweek. Highs will climb into the mid 90s, but the humidity will make it feel like it’s around 105. An isolated downpour is possible Monday, but most will be dry. The remainder of the week remains about the same with highs in the lower to mid 90s with low rain chances. This weekend we’ll be watching for changes in the form of rain chances increasing and temperatures dropping. Unfortunately it looks like this will be because of a tropical wave currently east of The Bahamas. More on this in the Tropics section below.
TROPICS: We’re watching multiple areas for development this week.
The one closest to home has a low chance of development this week. This will likely bring a surge of moisture to Florida and the Central Gulf Coast later this week into the weekend. Chances of significant development are low right now. it looks like windshear and some dry air could keep it from developing into much, but we have to watch these things closely this time of year.
Another disturbance is way out in the Atlantic. It has better chance of development later this week. For now we just keep an eye on it.
Another wave moving out of Africa will have to monitored, but it’s way out there right now.
