9/6 – Rob’s Monday Afternoon “Wet Pattern” Forecast

A cold front will drop southeast into the forecast area, providing showers/T-Storms along the front to impact the area into tonight. Deep tropical moisture should be in place with the possibility for isolated pockets of heavy rainfall through mid-week. There will be the potential for several inches of rain to fall quickly in some locations as the very moist conditions should support heavy rainfall rates. The potential is increasing for heavy rainfall and areas of flash flooding over locations that have already experienced excessive rainfall during Hurricane Ida.

The frontal boundary will stall across southeast Louisiana/S. Mississippi through Tuesday and with building instability again on Tuesday along and south of the front, expecting additional development of numerous showers and thunderstorms across southeast Louisiana.
