9/5 – Jeff’s “Changes Ahead” Tuesday Night Forecast

Temperatures will drop to tolerable levels out the door tomorrow. Some clouds will be around at times and humidity will be on the upswing. The start of your Wednesday could feature isolated showers and a stray rumble of thunder up until about noon or so. It will be hot and humid tomorrow afternoon with heat indices around 100 to 105.

A cold front will be approaching our area for the end of the week. Thursday will feature scattered thunderstorm chances in the afternoon with daytime heating. The front will be making its way through the area Friday into Saturday. Rain chances will still be around Friday and very isolated in nature this weekend. Some relief from humidity will be in store by the end of the weekend.

In the tropics, there are no threats to South Mississippi for at least the next 7 – 10 days. Tropical Storm Lee is in the deep tropical Atlantic Ocean and continues to move west. It is forecast to intensify into a powerful major hurricane and move adjacent to or north of the Leeward Islands. There is a lot of time to watch this but long-term guidance suggests a turn to the north.
