9/27 – Jeff’s “Some Clearing” Wednesday Night Forecast
Some gradual clearing will take place overnight and any shower chances will be put to bed in short order. Again, it will be mild out the door for your Thursday with partly cloudy skies turning mostly cloudy at times. A 20% or so chance of a shower is not out of the question but the bulk of rain chances will not be in our area.
For mariners, there is a Small Craft Advisory in effect until 4 PM Thursday. A front is slowly making its way through our region and will provide for a pattern change. Skies will become mainly sunny by this weekend as high pressure will dominate the eastern United States. Rain chances will not make a return for several days.
Drought continues to be an issue in our area and relief would need to come from a tropical source. Given that it is our driest time of the year on average that is the main way appreciable rainfall arrives. No tropical threats are in view for South Mississippi for the next 7 – 10 days.
