8/23 – Rob’s “Mid-Week” Morning Forecast

A weak cold front has moved into N’tern Mississippi and will provide for a more unstable atmosphere. Showers & t-storms will continue to plague the area/region through the rest of the workweek.

The remnants of TS Harvey from last week has moved over the Yucatan and back over water in the Bay of Campeche, with the National Hurricane Center (NHC) expecting development into a TROPICAL STORM within a day or so. This entity should continue to move NW and make landfall in NE’tern Mexico but…the moisture flow will move into the N’tern GOM. This could pose problems for the Mississippi Gulf Coast this weekend.

As a cold front slowly moves into C-Mississippi, the moisture will stay trapped south of the boundary and provide for constant rain through the upcoming weekend…along with periods of HEAVY RAIN. Models are indicating 4-8” of rainfall possible.
