8/21 – Rob Knight’s “Eclipse Monday” Forecast

The potential for showers/t-storms will once again stay fairly low, as an area of low-pressure moves across the N’tern Gulf of Mexico. Isolated activity will be in the area early morning then again mid/late afternoon through tonight. The activity will move to the sound/N’tern GOM overnight. Although the atmosphere is unstable and moisture latent, drier/more subsiding air is moving into the area from the east and southeast. Rain potential will slowly increase as a wave of moisture moves in Tuesday and Wednesday.

A possible wet weekend coming up and global models want to leave a surface boundary very close or even over the area into the first of next week. This should keep the chances of showers/t-storms on the higher than average side as we move through the 1st weekend of September…
