8/16 – Rob Knight’s “Midday News” Forecast
After a rain-free start to the day, showers and t-storms are moving into and developing along the viewing area.
Today will be more of the same but the change will be the suppressible HIGH-PRESSURE that will begin to move into the region by late today and tonight forcing the weakness northward. Heavy rainfall will continue to be an issue but we will need to add one more item to the problem list...ISOLATED SEVERE T-STORMS. The MAIN THREAT will be t-storms collapsing rapidly leading to downbursts with VERY STRONG WINDS in excess of 30-40 mph.
Drier air will affect the region Thur/Fri. With a decrease in cloud coverage…temperatures will climb into the low/mid 90s along with the HEAT INDICES elevating. The moisture flow will return heading into and through the weekend with elevated rain potential.
