8/29 – Rob’s “Katrina Anniversary” Afternoon Forecast
The very tropical pattern continues through the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
This pattern will keep the region/area opened up to deeper Gulf/Caribbean moisture and minimal subsidence to inhibit convective development.
The abundance of moisture continues throughout the atmosphere, with the threat of scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms again today. Coverage has been on the order of 60 to at least 80%, so today’s forecast will reflect that. T-storms will fade in the late afternoon with loss of daytime heating.
Moving into early next week, not much will change until the middle to latter half of next week when the Bermuda Ridge drifts back west towards the Carolina coastlines.
